SMOKE FREE
Habits good or bad are formed by repetition. At first smoking
may seem an innocent act maybe you started to impress a friend
or friends, possibly your parents smoked and it just seemed the thing
to do. The reason that you started smoking is not all that
important. It is the reason that you continue smoking despite
conclusive evidence that smoking is dangerous to your health, that is
the greatest concern.
Maybe you smoke now because you are afraid if you stop you will gain
weight or, possibly because you are too stressed to quit. Have
you tried to quit and were not successful, and now have convinced
yourself that you can't quit smoking.
The subconscious mind is powerful. It can control your autonomic body
processes i.e., regulate the rhythm of your heart, control your blood
pressure as well as powerful hormonal responses in emergencies.
It also, creates unconscious behavior.
Most of our emotional responses are unconscious. When we are
born, we begin to develop a map of reality based upon our experiences,
i.e.,
visual, auditory, kinesthetic and olfactory sensations and experiences. This map
is only our perceptions of the way we perceive reality. A child does
not have the ability to rationalize the same as an adult, thus if they
are told something by someone they love, trust or respect, they will
likely take it into their memory bank as truth even if it is an
untruth. If a child is told repetitively that they are worthless
in words or actions those statements may be accepted into their
subconscious mind.
The unconscious will then set out to create circumstances that confirm
the belief that they are worthless and unworthy, even of health in
some cases.
If you have the desire to quit smoking and then beat yourself up
because you seem to be unable to quit, telling yourself..."what's
wrong with me, why can't I quit smoking". the feelings of failure and
worthlessness are simply reinforcing an inner belief that you can't
quit smoking and that you are worthless..
Our unconscious mind is like a computer. It is programmed with
all sorts of programs, some are good and others simply are not
functional anymore. Your smoking program may have served you in
some way in the past, however, it is now creating stress, anxiety,
fear and health problems. It's time to get rid of that old
programming.
Your unconscious mind obeys your repetitive thoughts. If you
have been thinking negative thoughts about yourself; beating yourself
up, your unconscious mind will set out to create in your world what
you believe is true about yourself. It is important to think
only positive thoughts because you will eventually experience the
results of your repetitive thoughts in your physical world.
Instruct your unconscious mind as to who you want to be. If you
want to have a healthy body, tell yourself, "I AM healthy", It may not
be true when you say it, however, the subconscious mind does not know
the difference in what you perceive as reality and what is imagined.
If you keep that positive thought in your mind, your unconscious mind
will have no choice, but to create a healthier body. You can even
reverse some negative health conditions by using positive
affirmations. This process works even faster if you can imagine
in your minds eye how it looks and feels to be healthy and SMOKE FREE.
It is a well know fact that some diseases are caused by negative
emotions consistently held in our body over time, i.e., anger, pain,
and guilt to name only a few.
Our heart, blood pressure, and other bodily functions can be
controlled by our unconscious mind. If you wish to change your
behavior, change your thoughts. Make a list of the thoughts and
behavior you wish to create in your world, then direct your
unconscious mind using the words I AM, for example:
I Am smoke free
I AM successful
I AM healthy
I AM full of joy
I AM stress free
You can make up any affirmation you choose by simply including the
words I AM in front of it. It is even more powerful if you feel
the emotions, i.e., feel healthy...feel successful...feel abundant.
If you don't know what it feels like, make it up. Your
unconscious mind doesn't know the difference.
Hypnosis bypasses the analytical left brain and access the
subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is more likely to
accept therapeutic suggestions because it does not analyze the
suggestion. You cannot be made to do anything that goes against
your core values or survival instincts. However, if you have a
sincere desire to change unwanted habits or behavior and trust the
process, hypnosis is a powerful tool for transformation.
Hypnosis is most affective in a one-on-one session with a qualified
