WHAT IS MY LIFE PURPOSE?
One of the most common questions I hear from my clients is, “What is my life purpose?”
If you have wondered what your purpose is, there is a simple way to find out. I said simple, not easy.
The biggest obstacle to finding your life purpose is your own preconceived ideas and expectations. Some have grandiose ideas about their life purpose, and others feel that a life purpose is only for special people. Every person has a unique gift that can only be expressed through him or her. Not everyone is a prophet, or teacher, some have chosen to serve as waitresses or garbage collectors, etc. SPIRIT is no respecter of persons.
Most of us have grown to believe that what we see, sense, feel or hear is all there is to life. Oh, we may have a vague idea of something greater than we are, but it is only an idea conjured up from our own perceptions of life and what life should be; all conceived from our past programming.
We are programmed just like computers. Kaka in, kaka out. So how or what we think things should be is not how or what things are.
We are searching for something that seems to elude us; searching for our life purpose, searching for happiness, searching for abundance. If I just knew my life purpose, everything would be perfect. If I could just get that perfect job, everything would be great. If I could just meet the right person, I could live happily ever after or if my partner would just change, everything would be fine.
This kind of thinking is the reason our life purpose, love, peace, joy and abundance seem to elude us. We believe that what we want comes from, outside of our selves.
Want equals lack. If you want something, you are telling yourself you do not have it, thus you are being deprived of abundance because you BELIEVE you don’t have it. Kaka in kaka out. The truth is we already have everything we need.
We live in a world of polarities: good vs. bad, happy vs. sad. Because we believe in this world of polarities, we experience such things in our lives: sometimes good sometimes bad, sometimes happy sometimes sad.
We look out at the world and see anger, violence and sadness and we feel anxious, fearful and powerless.
You might have heard the spirit of the ONE lives in you, but that is a misnomer. Your body is spirit expressing itself as you. It is impossible to be separated from SPIRIT. Separation is an illusion existing only as a perception that we have created by our belief in our existence outside of SPIRIT. (I refer to the ONE, SPIRIT, PRESENCE or HIGHER SELF interchangeably as GOD).
We have separated ourselves from the ONE by looking out at the world and believing the external world has power over us. We have turned over our power to want and desire of material things. I am talking about more than a big house or new car. I am also, referring to the necessities of life: work, food, and shelter etc.
I can hear you thinking, how else can I live? I have to work to provide food, clothing and shelter for my family and myself. I do not have time for anything else.
If you took just five minutes morning noon and night, to mediate on the things of SPIRIT, giving gratitude and thanks for the gifts you have received, and are sincere and persistent in your desire to know your PRESENCE and to "love your PRESENCE with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul, your awareness of PRESENCE/SPIRIT will express itself as your work, food and shelter and what ever is required to manifest your life purpose.
If SPIRIT is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscient and if you are SPIRIT expressing itself, how could you possible lack for anything? It is our belief in lack that creates lack, our belief in powerlessness that creates powerlessness. This is what separates us from our abundance.
Focus your attention on SPIRIT, if only a few moments through out the day, not with the desire to get something, but with the desire to know and feel SPIRIT, which you are, and as you begin living more in the PRESENCE, you increase the awareness of who you really are and everything you need and much more is manifest.
The way to experience your life purpose, love, peace, joy and abundance is simple. Remember who you really are. Meditate on SPIRIT as often as you practically can without any wants or desires. If your mind wonders during meditation, do not be concerned; this is a natural and normal function of your thinking process. Gently bring it back. You will gradually be able to sit for one, two or three minutes without thought, and eventually you will be living in the PRESENCE more than the illusion of this world.
Out of the stillness, SPIRIT speaks, as revelation, inspiration and creativity. It can be an audible voice, a gentle nudging, a feeling of warmth or an idea that just pops into your mind. Listen, see and feel the PRESENCE. Then, you rest in the comforting arms of the Father/Mother SPIRIT. A burden is lifted because it is not you doing the work. It is SPIRIT expressing itself as you. Your life purpose, love, peace, joy and abundance will unfold through you as SPIRIT. SPIRIT never left you because SPIRIT cannot leave itself. Let SPIRIT do the work.
